The VMC’s user-friendly Windows XP Professional operating system brings a traditional office-like setting to any commercial cab and provides an indirect means to boost field productivity. The VMC10comfortably runs third-party applications and peripheral devices can be installed to the dual COM, USB (2.0) and Ethernet ports.
The slim-profile VMC10 is mountable in any number of accessible concealed spaces. The mobile computer is installed in a shock-and-vibration protected mount and features a quick-release for the end user’s ease if removing the computer.
The VMC10 supports the standard VGA (computer) video signal and also pairs with DSE’s All-Weather Monitor (AWM) equipped with Low Voltage Differential Signaling (LVDS) video technology (AWM “L” Series). This enables the user to have dual video feeds.
The mobile computer is driven by a Celeron M or Pentium M processor (configurable up to 1.4GHz)
and has variable memory configurations
(up to 1 GB).
The VMC’s data storage is managed by a 40GB/5400 RPM hard disk drive (HDD), with optional integrated storage of up to 120GB; CompactFlash SSD storage solutions are also available.
The VMC10 computer uses low-power and is equipped with a conditioned power supply. DSE ruggededized computers or sunlight readable monitors may also be powered from an AC power adapter.
Hot-swappable batteries are available for the VMC10, offering a 90+ minute run-time when paired with one of DSE’s ruggedized mobile monitors. These flat panel LCD displays are bright sunlight viewable (dimmable to night
vision specs), may be integrated with touch screen technology and are built to NEMA 6 and IP67 industry standards: sealed against dust and water penetration.
