Electrical Engineer

Job Description:

The Electrical Engineer position is responsible for the design, development, and verification of custom electronics assemblies and interconnects.  The position involves full-stack development of mixed signal printed circuit boards (PCBs) containing high-speed digital circuitry, embedded systems, power conversion, and/or related technologies, as well as associated enclosure and interface wiring designs.  For more details regarding this position, read on:

Duties and Contributions to Engineering Department Include:

  • Utilize electrical design tools and software (e.g., Altium, PSpice) to perform engineering tasks and to convert technical requirements into schematic diagrams, printed circuit board layouts, and assembly drawings.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and performance standards.
  • Prepare technical drawings, specifications of electrical systems, or diagrams to ensure installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements.
  • Design, implement, maintain or improve electrical equipment, components, products or systems for commercial, industrial or defense purposes.
  • Develop and test electrical models of alternate designs or processing methods to assess feasibility, sustainability, operating condition effects, potential new applications or necessity of modification.
  • Specify electrical components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design, performance specifications, or environmental regulations.
  • Perform detailed electrical calculations to compute and establish manufacturing standards or specifications.
  • Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals or other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost or maintenance requirements of electrical designs or applications.
  • Plan and/or implement research methodology and procedures to apply principles of electrical theory to engineering projects.
  • Write electrical performance requirements for product development.
  • Provide component-level review and in-depth electrical troubleshooting support for products in Manufacturing and Technical Services.
  • Investigate electrical equipment failures or difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and recommend remedial actions.
  • Assist Sales team in researching, designing, evaluating systems and/or processes to meet customer requirements.

Education, Experience and Miscellaneous Requirements:

Education:  Position requires a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or closely-related field.

 

Experience:  Seeking candidates with minimum of two years engineering experience in closely-related field.  Ideal candidates will have experience and skills centering on printed circuit design, layout and systems integration.

 

Miscellaneous:  Candidates must be able to demonstrate experience in multitasking necessary to meet several simultaneous project milestones up to and including completion of several projects. Works well both independently and in a team environment.  Flexibility to shift priorities to address deadlines and developments is imperative.  Candidates must be a documented U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, person granted U.S. Permanent Resident Card, or any individual who is granted status as a “protected person”).  Professional references will be contacted in an appropriate fashion.
